This film was planned and filmed entirely by local residents during a participatory video training by Insight. The residents highlight that when water pipes were laid in the Tea Estate, Inanda, the residents were overjoyed that they would soon have access to clean water, but as the film they made shows, they are still waiting.

This film was planned and filmed by the members of the Tichezerane AIDS Support group, in Malawi, all of who live with the effects of AIDS each day. How do the members of this group continue to live with courage, hope, a positive outlook on life and at the same time welcome and share this support and energy with others? Watch this participatory video and be inspired.

The group was established by the members themselves with the support and advice of GOAL Malawi, and the group was assisted by the organisation Insight to make this participatory video.

A Participatory Film by the Batwa People - Uganda

This film was created to raise awareness among Ugandan policy makers and the world at large of the shocking plight of the Batwa people since their forced eviction from their ancestral hunting grounds in 1992. The film was planned and filmed entirely by members of the Batwa people themselves using participatory video assisted by Insight. Part of this film was aired on Ugandan television as well as being screened to local and national politicians, donors and NGOs.

UN Forum on Indigenous Issues - Using Participatory Video

This film hopes to show how participatory video is viewed and used by indigenous peoples to relay their stories, and give a voice to their communities. The film was made by participants at the Fifth Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at the UN Headquarters, New York 15 to 26 May 2006, with assistance from Insight.
