Program Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia, Violeta is a human rights advocate and trainer for NGO management. Violeta worked as a gender violence counselor in the former Yugoslavia and organized campaigns to strengthen civil society initiatives against nationalism and war. In the U.S., Violeta has conducted research and advocacy on the impact of U.S. government foreign policy on women's human rights globally. Violeta holds an MA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a BA also from Columbia. Her native language is Serbo-Croatian; she is also proficient in Russian and Spanish.
