This is a dedicated section of the Hub for the Cultural Programme for the Mexico City AIDS2008 conference - providing an opportunity for the global activist and cultural community (including those who are unable to attend the conference) to participate in building a kaleidoscopic picture of human rights-based HIV/AIDS activism and media-making around the world.
Here you can find videos, photographs and blog posts from stakeholders on the issue (NGOs, practitioners, advocates, scholars and researchers, and people living with HIV/AIDS, or PLWHA).
* We've highlighted some of the Hub's key media items in the Spotlight section below; to see more, just click on 'All Group Media'.
* Watch video featuring key HIV/AIDS advocates attending AIDS2008, shot as part of a participatory video project in which attendees were provided with training on how to film interviews and asked to highlight key voices speaking out on why human rights needs to be at the heart of the global struggle against HIV/AIDS.
* If you work on HIV/AIDS, we invite you to join the Hub to feature your work, including videos, photographs, audio, and campaigns - we'll feature new HIV/AIDS-related media here.

WITNESS is a human rights organization that uses video and online technologies to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. As part of the AIDS 2008 conference, this Hub group has been created to draw on the power of media to advocate for an effective universal action against the contemporary human rights crisis: HIV/AIDS.
Countries have committed to fight this pandemic, they have listed it as one of the millennium development goals; to date nothing has been achieved, the spread of the virus is continuing and millions of infected people, all categories, are dying every day. The time has come to deliver treatment for all, to implement effective policies and to allocate enough resources to fight the pandemic.
