The first few hundred Palestinian families were allowed to return to their destroyed or damaged homes at the outskirts of Nahr al-Bared Camp in winter 2007/08. They faced a very difficult situation. Many of them lost their homes and most of their property was either destroyed or stolen.
This short video documents the refugee's experiences once they returned to their camp and their efforts to deal with their new reality.

'Palestinian Arab Citizens of Israel: A Case Study of Discrimination,' produced by WITNESS in collaboration with its Nazareth-based partner, The Arab Association for Human Rights, documents a range of civil rights violations by the State of Israel against its Arab citizens. Discriminatory policies and practices addressed by the video include: the unequal allocation of state funds per capita for Arab towns and villages, as well as denial of basic utilities for Arab villages unrecognized by the State.

Mr. Abdulkarim El-Khewani is a Yemeni journalist, activist, and writer. He was born on 1965 in Taiz governorate. He studied economy and political sciences in Sana’a University. Worked as the head of the political department in AL-Haq party, and editor-in-chief of its official newspaper "AL-Umma". He also worked as editor-in-chief of “AL-Shura” weekly newspaper and “Al-Shora net” news website. He is well-known with his courageous articles criticizing the ruling regime in Yemen.
