Taking the Pledge: The Effects of the US Anti-Prostitution Pledge

Taking the Pledge is a 13-minute film featuring sex workers from Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Mali, Thailand and more! They describe the problems created by the 'anti-prostitution pledge' required to receive USAID and PEPFAR funds.

In English, Khmer, Thai, French, Portuguese and Bengali, with English subtitles. Watch in full-screen mode to read the subtitles.

Con frecuencia, la región de América Latina y el Caribe es caracterizada en el mundo por sus altos niveles de inequidad social. La gente pobre, indígena y del medio rural carece de acceso a la satisfacción de sus necesidades más básicas, especialmente de acceso a los servicios de salud reproductiva. Al proporcionar servicios de salud a las poblaciones más vulnerables, incluidas las mujeres, ayudamos a mejorar el bienestar comunitario y contribuimos a la reducción de la pobreza en la región.
