Lets make our neighborhoods cleaner!

Filth and garbage are huge problems in the slums, with rotting waste piling up in the roads and hardly any municipal system for collecting waste. The Community Producers request their neighbors to take more responsibility and to stop dumping their garbage right outside their doors. The video takes slum dwellers on a visual journey with a piece of garbage, showing them the huge and unsustainable landfills where their garbage ends up, and introduces them to a hard-working woman who makes her living as a rag-picker in those landfills.

Children of the Amazon

In children of the Amazon, Brazilian filmmaker Denise Zmekhol travels to the heart of the Amazon in search of the indigenous children she photographed fifteen years ago. She encounters a world transformed by logging, ranching and disease. From the assassination of rubber tapper Chico Mendes to the ongoing struggle to protect the forest, this inspiring story of resilience reveals how we are all children of the Amazon, breathing the same air and sharing the same fate.

Arrakis - teaser #1, amianthus, italian industrial decay

Arrakis - Teaser #1

"We were just workers and ex-workers.
We are firmed citizens,
who survived an announced massacre,
which took place in many Italian factories.
A massacre that hasn’t reached the peak of its terrible death show yet.
There’s someone who will always have a guilty conscience."

About this documentary:
Abandoned factories’ views are the background of a voice changed by disease.
It’s Silvestro Capelli’s voice, an ex-worker in the Breda Fucine Factory in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan.
It’s the particular voice of a laryngectomized man.
