On July 31st 2009 3 US Graduates, Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer & Josh Fattal were on holiday in Iraqi Kurdistan when they were detained by Iranian Border guards.Iran claimed that they had hiked across the border and were US spies.They have been in Evin Prison in Iran ever since.In this, our second Real Hikers film, we continue to present the truth behind who these three really are.5 days before they left on their holiday all three were at the wedding of their best friend Emily in Damascus, Syria (where Sara and Shane were living)In this emotive film Emily, talks about her Palestinian wedding, which the 3 friends attended, and the shock of their imprisonment a few days later. In previously unseen footage, we watch Sarah and Shane dancing happily together, blissfully unaware of the fate that awaits them.Sarah was teaching and working as a volunteer with the Iraqi Student Project in Damascus, where she and Shane were living.
