Tens of thousands of child soldiers continue to be used inside Burma, is the consensus assessment of several rights groups and Burma watchers.
The Thai-based Human Rights Education Institute for Burma (HREIB) says that special attention and action from the international community is needed to address the violations of the rights of children in Burma, especially with reference to their continued use as soldiers.

Lose-Lose Situation

This is outrageous! Opposing forces will be forced to kill children who are out there to kill them. Then - should it happen - it's material for the Burma media to twist upon the reputation of the opposing forces. The children have lost their innocence at such a tender age. When they become adults, what's going to happen to Burma? In the end, everyone loses.
