Sustainable Clean Water and Health Project in the indigenous community of Saint Rose of Huacaria in the Manu Rain Forest located in the southeastern Peruvian Amazon. In September of 2004 Huacaria became the first indigenous community the southeastern Peru Amazon to have equal access to safe, clean drinking water at every home, stone utility sinks with underground greywater drains, health education for all children and families. There is active participation from the children and community, and the video is show to the positive health transformation that occurs when integral partnerships are formed with NGO, indigenous communities, and the local and regional health and education ministries. As of Nov of 06 a hygiene structure was built at the schoolhouse. Flush latrines with an eco-friendly septic system with separate sides for the boy and girls. The community and children have successfully maintained their systems over 6 years and their daily hygiene practices transformed! Chronic diarrhea decreased 45 % over 4 years.
