In the summer of 2007 the United States and S. Korea signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). This agreement will make it extremely difficult for Korean farmers to earn a living because of the unfair competition with large American agro-businesses. Also, some Koreans fear that the quality of imported produce will be inferior; this raises health concerns. I was in S. Korea the weeks leading up to the signing as well as the following weeks. I, along with four other students, documented the outrage some constituents had with the agreement and their disappointment with the S. Korean government.
