Witnessed: 1280 veces
The central aim of this project was to help young people understand and reflect the experiences of refugees. For this, students from Winston Churchill School have been trained in interview technique to carry out a series of in-depth video interviews with refugees. There have also been contextualizing workshops, and the students produced art work in response to the interviews. The exhibition (shown at The Lightbox for a month, at the Surrey History Centre and also at the venue of the new Community Play) incorporates the film, still images, students’ artworks and text. The film will also be distributed to schools and made available on the web.
The project has been supported by MLA as part of Their Past Your Future 2 and by the Lottery Fund.
