Between April 21 and 23, thirty student and community actors participated in a simulation of what a military occupation would look like at Western Washington University. The three-day event showed the escalation of an occupation, and the guerrilla theater performance was synthesized with a panel discussion the following night to discuss how Bellingham, WA can be come a sanctuary city: a safe space for soldiers who object to the Iraq war and have gone AWOL.
