Filmed in Niger, this video shows the struggle that the people of the Azawak go through to obtain water. Their quality of life depends on the mercy of the environment; whether they live or die depends on the rain. With a shorter and shorter rainy season, finding water becomes more and more difficult. More and more people are dying.

The Azawak is a region the size of Florida, mostly in Niger and extending into Mali. 500,000 people live there, generally forgotten by their government and international agencies.

There is a saying in the Azawak, "Amman Imman, Arr Issudar, Water is Life, Milk is Hope." Before they can have hope, the people of the Azawak need water.

Development organization Amman Imman: Water is Life builds permanent and sustainable water sources, bringing water and hope to the people of the Azawak.
