On September 2008, barangay Ipilan chairman Jonathan Lagrada questioned the legitimacy of MacroAsia, thus stopping its contractor JCP Geo-Ex Services, Inc. from carrying out survey activities in the barangay property. Therefore, MacroAsia filed administrative charges against Jonathan Lagrada, leading to a 90 days suspension from his official duties. As a result, civil society members locked the Barangay hall, declaring it temporarily closed until Lagradas return.
