Filth and garbage are huge problems in the slum areas of Mumbai, with rotting waste piling up in the roads. There is hardly any municipal system for collecting waste. This video takes slum dwellers on a visual journey with a piece of garbage, showing them the huge and unsustainable landfills where their garbage ends up, and introduces them to a hard-working woman who makes her living as a rag-picker in those landfills. This film has been used by NGOs working on the issue of sanitation and have seen an increase of meeting attendances. Most importantly, the Government puts dumpsters in two of the major slum areas for the first time.
