Kenyan security forces moved into Lerata and neighboring villages, on a violent rampage, indiscriminately firing on unarmed villagers, including women and children, and beating villagers with clubs. The ground assault was accompanied by Kenyan forces strafing villagers on the ground with machine gun fire from helicopters.
