"Prisoners in Freedom City" is a documentary from Beijing residents and blogging activists Hu Jia and Zeng Jinyan. Hu is currently in detention awaiting sentencing on charges of "subversion against the state" and Zeng and her 2 month-old daughter are in their third week of house arrest, barred from any and all contact with the outside world. (Jan. 22/2008)

Editor's UPDATE April 3, 2008: Chinese human rights activist Hu Jia (胡佳) has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison for "inciting subversion of state power". He has repeatedly campaigned for the rights of people with HIV/AIDS, for religious freedom, and for Tibetan autonomy, as well as for the environment, free speech and the release of political prisoners.

Actions

A number of people have tried bringing Jinyan and her daughter food and baby formula, but were denied entry. Zeng's home address: 北京通州区东果园BOBO自由城76号楼5单元542号 #542, Unit 5, Building #76, BOBO Freedom City, Dongguoyuan, Tongzhou district, Beijing
