July 16, 2007: Mass graves of around 1000 victims was found and uncovered by police in suburbs of Kabul in a desert called Chamtala.

Some believe that it is from the crimes committed by Russian puppet regime in 80's but others say they have been killed by Mujahideen warlords from 1992 to 1996 when Afghanistan was in civil war of the Northern Alliance. Police Chief has been threatened by unknown people to keep silent about these graves.

According to reports, Shura-e-Nezar of Ahmad Shah Massoud had its base in the Chamtala Desert during their fighting with other armed groups so probably they have hands in the crimes.
