Local Implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and its relationship with the Durban Review Conference (DRC) of the World Conference Against Racism (WCAR)

This training call will focus on how human rights advocates can use ICERD on a city, county, and statewide level to address issues of racial inequality and inequity. It will specifically focus on the intersection of community organizing, legal advocacy, and public education to advance the application of the 2008 Concluding Observations of the Committee to Elimination Racial Discrimination (CERD).

It will also explore the interrelationship between local ICERD implementation and implementation of the Durban Declaration and Plan of Action from the World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerances (WCAR) held in Durban, South Africa in 2001.
