On the Road with Peter Gabriel in New York

Greetings from NYC and WITNESS HQ:

I've been lucky enough to be traveling with Peter's latest tour, Scratch My Back, (read my previous blog from the first stop in North America- the amazing show in Montreal last week) spreading the word about WITNESS, and it's been a wild ride.

Peter played 2 shows at the famous Radio City Music Hall and tore the house down (not literally of course). Some lucky WITNESS supporters attended the sound check on May 2nd where Peter himself made a special guest appearance, heading into the audience and signing autographs. He also sang a bit of "Red Rain," giving everyone a sneak peak as to what was to come later that night. Lou Reed also appeared as a surprise guest, and sang his version of "Solsbury Hill." With a sold out crowd, (and folks like the Edge and David Byrne among it), and an unbelievable concert, it was hard not to be inspired.

Peter's crew were amazing as usual (Dickie, T, Gary, Rob, etc.) helping WITNESS out whenever they can. Our PSA was shown on the big screens, and lots of people texted WITNESS to 69866 to sign up for our newsletter.  If you have not already joined our mailing list, please do so! If you're in the US you can text WITNESS to the short code 69866 or sign up here. You'll receive our monthly newsletter that highlights, among other things, how you can stand up for human rights.

And for a fun anecdote about a recent trip to the ER with PG's engineer, Dicki Chappell, read Peter's Tour Diary. Follow me on Twitter @WITNESSbecky - where you can get more updates from the road.

LA, here we come...

and MASSIVE thanks to the WITNESS supporter (you know who you are) who handed his extra front row seat to our WITNESS staffer tabling at the show Monday night. You inspired us with your kindness.

Take care and see you in LA,
