Peter Gabriel on Fasting for Darfur: Technology can create 'ecosystem of change'

Last week I wrote about Darfur Fast for Life - a growing movement of more than 400 people in 25 countries that have fasted (or are fasting) in solidarity with the people of Darfur, who are facing increasingly severe shortages of food, water, and medicine following the March 4 explusion of humanitarian aid organizations working in Sudan.

WITNESS founder Peter Gabriel started his fast on May 14 - here he talks at the end of Day 1 about the decision of joining the campaign:

 

So what impact can campaigns like this have?  In this video, Peter reflects on how technological tools can help create ecosystems for change, in which "people on the ground who suffer can connect with people who can campaign, organize, and network" around common goals... like stopping the genocide and humanitarian crisis in Darfur:
