On the eve of the 2009 Human Rights Watch International Film Festival (HRWIFF) - the 20th edition - I went to interview its director, John Biaggi, about the history of the festival, what role the festival plays for Human Rights Watch, and how the festival can serve to create human rights impact. [Thanks to my colleague Christine Umali, who helped with the interview, and to WITNESS intern Caitlin Clay for editing this piece. We'll upload the fuller version in due course.]
