Why is it important to understand the intersection of HIV/AIDS and violence against women (VAW) and what makes it a human rights issue? Neelanjana Mukhia, of ActionAid, is in an excellent position to address this question: she coordinates Women Won't Wait. End HIV/AIDS and VAW. Now! Campaign.

This interview was conducted in collaboration with the Center for Women’s Global Leadership and their event Human Rights for Women; Human Rights for All. The event, which coincided with the UN's Global Status of Women conference, celebrated the the depth and diversity of the women’s movement and honored the commitment of women’s human rights defenders around the world.
