Aisha Lee Shaheed of The Global Campaign to Stop Killing and Stoning Women gets to the heart of issue and addresses myths and stereotypes surrounding stoning. The campaign is initiated by a group of lawyers, activists, journalists and academics in order to address the intensifying trend of cultural/religious legitimization of lethal violence against women.

This interview was conducted in collaboration with the Center for Women’s Global Leadership and their event Human Rights for Women; Human Rights for All. The event, which coincided with the UN's Global Status of Women conference, celebrated the the depth and diversity of the women’s movement and honored the commitment of women’s human rights defenders around the world.
