G8: Spotlight on climate change talks

As 17 world leaders gather in Italy for the expanded annual G8 Summit, many eyes are on the discussions around climate change and the need for reaching an international consensus to reduce global greenhouse emissions.

Today's featured video talks about how rising temperatures are already affecting people in poor and developing nations around the world, increasing the risk of food/water shortages, infectious diseases, displacement, and climate disasters.

The number of Japanese "comfort women" during WWII is estimated to be between 80,000 and 200,000. These women were from Korea, China, Taiwan, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Indonesia, and elsewhere. Their experience as "comfort women" left physical and mental trauma in their lives. Decades have passed, but the Japanese government never issued an apology. The survivors are demanding the Japanese government's sincere official apology and compensation, and seeking justice.
